One of the most fortunate months on the lunar calendar is called Karthika Masam. Dakshinayana and Uttararyana are the two halves of the lunar calendar. Dakshinayana includes Karthika Masam. Dakshinayana is the only one of the two ayanas designated for sadhana. Sadhana refers to a method for obtaining salvation. Karthika Masam is the best month for Sadhana out of all the ones in Dakshinayana. Karthika Masam is one of the most fortunate months in the lunar calendar as a result.

The Karthika Masam has many meanings, but its most significant one is that it is fortunate for both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu worshipers. Both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu temples are crowded with worshipers during Karthika Masam. The Karthika Masam aides in our comprehension that Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are one and the same, not two separate beings.

On Karthik EKADASHI, and Karthik Pournami, people fast. During this holy month, praying to Lord Shiva, doing RUDRABHISHEKHA, BILVAPOOJA, and reciting the VISHNU SAHASRANAMA would be very beneficial and will purge us of all our sins.
