Ganapathi pooja, also known as Ganesh puja or Ganapati worship, is a sacred ritual dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences, and the god of beginnings in Hinduism. Here’s a general outline of the content for a Ganapathi pooja:

Preparation: Before beginning the pooja, it’s essential to clean the puja area and gather all the necessary items required for the ritual. This includes a picture or idol of Lord Ganesha, flowers, incense sticks, camphor, ghee or oil lamp, fruits, sweets (modakas are considered a favorite of Lord Ganesha), and other offerings.

Invocation (Pran Prathishta): Invite Lord Ganesha to be present during the pooja by invoking his blessings. This is typically done by chanting sacred mantras such as “Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha” or any other mantra dedicated to Lord Ganesha.

Offerings (Upachara): Offer various items to Lord Ganesha as a sign of reverence and devotion. These offerings can include flowers, incense, lamps, fruits, sweets, and water.

Chanting of Mantras and Stotras: Recite Ganesha mantras and stotras (hymns) dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Some popular ones include the Ganapati Atharvashirsha, Ganapati Gayatri Mantra, and Ganapati Stotram.

Ganapathi Atharvashirsha: This is a Vedic text dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It’s often recited during Ganapathi pooja for invoking his blessings and wisdom.

Ganapathi Aarti: Conclude the pooja by performing the aarti (a ritual of waving lighted wicks before the deity) to Lord Ganesha. Sing or recite the Ganapati aarti while waving the lamp in a circular motion in front of the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha.

Prasad Distribution: Distribute the prasad (blessed offerings) to all the attendees as a symbol of sharing the divine blessings of Lord Ganesha.
